This route at Lake Chabot covers areas of the park that are less traveled: the lake's east side and Honker Bay.
The first part of the trail is paved until Indian Cove Trail and then becomes a dirt path that winds gradually upward through the woods. The landscape opens up near the top to provide views of the lake. For a short stretch, the trail runs along the road past the District's Public Safety Headquarters, an area once occupied by a Nike Missile site in the 1950s. The route then descends to the lake and follows the shore back to the marina.
There is a parking fee of $5 to park at the main parking lot of Lake Chabot Regional Park
We will meet at the main parking lot of Lake Chabot Regional Park which is by Lake Chabot road

• The park has basketball, pickleball, and tennis courts, so bring your gear if you'd like to play
• We’ll do some light speed-friending activities to help everyone mix and mingle

This is a low-key, no-pressure event all about building community and making new connections.

Let's find a place to sit and watch the movie around 7:30 - starting the event at 7 to give people some buffer/time to get snacks. Also keep in mind that finding the group in large open events like this is tricky, so if you show up late/can't find us post a comment including where you are and what you're wearing/how we can find you, and we'll come and find you.
