What we’re about
A group for building connections and community together through a variety of activities such as walking groups, card/board game evenings, after Parkrun breakfast, DIY projects of group members, and a variety of other sport and social gatherings.
The idea is to build an inclusive community to combat isolation and support each other in a wide variety of shared interests (excluding drinking/parties).
A no fee group, there is an optional place to donate towards yearly costs if so inclined.
Do note, there is a no-show policy in place whereby if you are marked as a no-show 3 times without further communicating with us, you will not be able to book on events until a discussion is held with an organiser.

After Dinner Conversation® - Dinner Club
Cosy Club, Unit R2, Festival Place, Basingstoke, GBDo you like reading short stories? Then this event is for you!
After Dinner Conversations is an independent nonprofit literary magazine focused on philosophy and ethics-driven short story fiction. In my opinion, it is pretty fabulous for the stories selected are always thought-provoking, exploring a wide range of topics that provide a great platform for discussion.
The magazine was previously available digitally through the local library subscription. I am checking on the alternatives. Until then, you can explore and follow the publication independently.
If you fancy joining their official events, follow the joining instructions here.
What to expect:
Pre-meet up task - A story and discussion questions will be circulated ahead of the event.
On the day, whilst scripted here, the intention is for the event to be casual but on topic. We meet for dinner and a brief roundtable introduction as we order our food. Dive into the discussion on the story whilst we eat.
It's been a while since I've hosted a dinner party, so be kind! If successful, the intention is to have these monthly.Thoughts, suggestions, questions - let's get the discussion going in comments.
Looking forward to seeing you at the event.
