What we’re about

The Banbury Young Walkers are a new friendly and sociable walking group aimed at people in their 20s, 30s, a little beyond, run by me Ollie. Often see people out walking in Banbury and thought it would be great if we could get a group together to discover new places and share the stunning views we know with others through walks on the odd weekend. Join us to exercise in the countryside, expand your social scene, explore the fantastic scenery on your doorstep.

Dogs are more than welcome, please bring a lead just in case we have a few.

Burton Dassett to Fenny Compton
Burton Dassett Country Park, Burton Dassett, CV47 2AB, GB
A beautiful 6.5k circular from Burton Dassett Hills country park to the village of Fenny Compton and back. You will see: a glowed- up quarry, stunning views of Warwickshire countryside, lots of sheep!There will be a half way stop at the Merrie Lion Pub in Fenny Compton for refreshments.

Attention ⚠️ The ground is uneven and muddy underfoot in places and there are a couple of moderate hills to contend with. You will need walking boots or wellies for this one- sandals are not recommended. Dogs are welcome, please bring a lead.

Meet opposite the disabled parking bays in Burton Dassett carpark (near the toilets!) at 11.30. Parking costs £3.30 and is card or RingGo app only.

For these wanting to explore the park after, there are lots of picnic benches in sheltered spots and toilets are open until 3pm.
