This is the group for you!
Not from Yorktown? No problem! We facilitate meetups all over Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach, Yorktown, Hampton, Norfolk, etc.). However, GJ mainly organizes activities in the Virginia Beach area (that side of the tunnel).
A little background:
I (Allie/Alisa) created this group in February 2018 during a turning point in my life. I realized that I am the creator of my happiness, and sometimes, achieving that happiness requires effort 💪. It's all about your attitude and perspective! You have to wake up every day and choose to be kind, cheerful, and proactive. Network, socialize, and strive for your goals! 🎯 I also needed more genuine friends and wanted a platform where I could do everything and anything (preferably not alone).
So here it is! Welcome to #BoredNevermore 🥳.
This platform also allows us to give back to the world 🌍. I’ve experienced anxiety and depression and know what it’s like to feel crushingly alone. Making true friends who care and reciprocate isn't easy. This meetup was created to help ensure that no one feels alone. I’m passionate about offering others what this group has given me. Remember, if this group isn’t the right fit for you—if we’re not your vibe or “tribe”—don’t give up! There are so many groups with different people. Keep trying! Your happiness and quality of life are worth it ❤️. Everyone has their niche, but I sincerely hope you find what you’re looking for here. 💖
How it works:
- Organizers will post events 🗓️ to see who would like to join. If you sign up and can’t make it, please update your RSVP!
- Want to host an event? Message GJ! He’ll happily help you create your event and assign you as the organizer. Just be ready to run the meetup in its entirety—be punctual, communicative, and reliable.
- This is NOT a singles group! If you meet someone and they turn out to be the love of your life, that’s fantastic 😍! But remember, our focus is on having a good time, meeting new people, and making FRIENDS (emphasis on friends). If it appears that your sole purpose is finding a partner, you may be removed from the group.
- Please do not message members without connecting with them in real life at a meetup or having some shared interest (other than messaging organizers for relevant information). The point of this group is to meet people IN REAL LIFE! Messages that make members uncomfortable may result in dismissal. This rarely happens, but it’s important to be clear!

I’m (Alisa/Allie) finally back from Germany and now living in North Carolina! 🇩🇪➡️🇺🇸 I’ll be swinging down every now and then to hang out with you folks again! 🎉 I can’t wait to kick off this next adventure in life and share some of it with you as well. 🌟

Pitch a Conspiracy @ Voodoo Brewing Co. 🛸
Voodoo Brewing, 300 Constitution Drive, 109, Virginia Beach, VA, USVoodoo Brewing is hosting a Pitch a Conspiracy night on Tuesday. October 20th. The first one was pretty fun, so we're checking it out again! Not sure how many people will present, but we'll eat dinner and hang out no matter what. If you want to present a conspiracy, make sure you sign up and we'll be there to cheer you on! It starts at 7pm, but we'll get there at 6:27pm to grab a table and order food and drink. The 666 Project: A Horror Anthology Show @ Push Comedy Theater
Push Comedy Theater, 763 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA, USSix local writers. Six directors. Six actors. The result is six original short plays that will make you laugh, squirm, and scream. There's multiple dates for this show, and this meetup is for checking it out on Friday, Oct 23. You'll have to buy your own ticket to this event, which is around $20. We'll meet up beforehand in the lobby of Push Comedy Theater then head in at 7:32 to sit together. More info about the show and buying tickets can be found at the link below:

The Poe Project @ Wells Theatre 🐦⬛
Wells Theatre, 108 East Tazewell Street, Norfolk, VA, USCore Theater Ensemble is putting on a theatrical experience blending literature, theatre, music, movement, and dance into one haunting evening. The production features selections including The Imp of the Perverse, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Bells, Annabel Lee, and The Raven. I haven't seen this show before, but it sounds pretty cool. There's multiple showings, and this meetup is for checking it out on Thursday, Oct 29 at 9:00pm. We'll gather in the lobby then head in to sit together at 8:44pm. I believe the show will be about 50 minutes. You'll have to buy your own ticket to the show, which is $30 plus fees. Please do not RSVP until after you have gotten your ticket. Note: Va Stage Co is offering a deal to watch Sleepy Hollow at 7pm and The Poe Project at 9pm for $50. I'm only watching Poe. Just make sure you buy the proper ticket for whichever show(s) you are watching.
