Join us for some Cardio and Chat this Weekend on Saturday as we explore on foot Devonport and nearby North Head filled with tunnels and caves..And splendid views all around the Auckland Harbour on the North Shore.

What : Auckland Social Walking Event

When: Saturday September 19th - 2026.

What Time are we Meeting ? 10.30am.

We will aim to be finished by 3.30pm.

Grade - Easy Medium. A few short hills. Slow down guided walking tour.

Where Gathering? Let's meet up outside the entrance to the Devonport Ferry Building or inside there's a cafe..and excellent toilets. I will probably take the Ferry over from Downtown.

About 3 hours of leisurely walking with plenty of stops to chat about the things we aee along the way.

We’ll start with a flat, scenic stroll along the Devonport waterfront , check out the beach and a few historic homes and the Devonport Navy Museum perhaps. it's free. ....before taking a gentle walk up North Head (Maungauika) to explore the historic tunnels and take in some beautiful harbor views.

Bring along
a small torch or Headlight or just use your mobile phone.

We'll get down to Cheltenham Beach which is in the picture here ..a long white sand
beach..and explore ..then there's afternoon refreshments
at Whites Dairy...The Home of North Shore biggest Ice Creams..for anyone interested...then loop back leisurely to our starting point at Devonport Ferry Building

This walk is perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a steady, low-pressure morning and afternoon outdoors in Urban Auckland.

Some short uphill bursts of energy required..nothing difficult if you walk often.

We will be taking plenty of stops to rest, chat, and take photos. Bring your camera, comfortable walking shoes, and your lunch, bottle of water.

And perhaps carry everything in a small backpack..A warm thermal or wool layer against your chest will keep you happy outdoors when we stop and a rain jacket or umbrella. .

Transportation. Carpooling...I recommend parking your car in the Downtown Carpark for the day..at 2.50 an hour..or a max of around 12 a day..It's great value..Catch the Devonport Ferry Boat over using your bus card .or buy a return ticket at the Ferry Building.

Or Drive to Devonport or Catch a Bus from Takapuna. Lots of free Carparking by the Devonport Promenade and Beach we walk along. Add a Note below the Event with your Mobile Number for a ride...Or use the WhatsApp on Auckland Social Group..

Active Teenagers are Welcome too...and friendly well behaved Guests...No Young Children please..or Smokers or anyone in a hurry.

Dice & Fork regular Saturday 12pm session

In an increasing digital world, we're a group that values in-person interaction and community.

We currently have a core group that meet up around 12pm. Start with some light games and then we may split into smaller groups as needed.

Come solo, come with a friend, come for an hour or 5 hours - just come ready to meet someone new, share some laughs, and get lost in a game. We value community, new connections, and laughing together.

Dice & Fork is a business so there is already a library available onsite but feel free to bring a game that you want to play.

Free parking off Franklin Road and surrounding roads. If unsure please check the signs.

Although the event is free we do ask if you can, please support their business by purchasing at least a drink from their menu.
