This scenic circular route starts and finishes in the charming riverside town of Marlow, winding its way through some of the prettiest parts of the southern Chilterns. Expect rolling countryside, peaceful woodland tracks, open fields, and charming villages along the way.The walk offers a lovely mix of gentle ascents and broad open views, without anything too steep or technical. With a steady pace, it’s ideal for women with a reasonable level of fitness who are looking for a bit of a challenge and a rewarding day outdoors.

- Our walks go ahead in all weather, so dress appropriately. Always carry a waterproof jacket.
- Check the forecast and bring sun cream, a hat, or sunglasses for warm days, and waterproofs, a warm hat, and gloves for cold or wet days.
- Wear trousers or leggings to reduce the risk of tick bites and nettle stings. Avoid denim or cotton.
- Sturdy walking shoes or boots are essential. Open-toe shoes are unsuitable.
- Bring at least 1.5 litres of water, lunch, and snacks, as there may be no opportunities to buy food or drinks along the route.

The varied terrain includes woodland tracks, undulating hills, and well-established footpaths – ideal for those looking to push themselves a little and enjoy the landscape at a steady pace.
Perfect for adventurous souls with a good level of fitness who enjoy a full day out in nature.

Join us for a spectacular and varied walk through the best viewpoints of the Goring Gap, taking in high ridges, riverside paths, and historic hilltop tracks.
Distance: 20 km Ascent: 335 m
Time: Approx. 5.5 hours walking time plus breaks

Terrain: Mix of hills, ridgelines, riverside paths, chalk tracks and open countryside

The Hike:
A spectacular and varied walk through the best viewpoints of the Goring Gap, taking in high ridges, riverside paths, and historic hilltop tracks. This circular route sets off from Goring & Streatley Station, climbing quickly to reveal sweeping views from Streatley Hill and the open ridges above Moulsford Downs.
The walk offers a rewarding mix of scenery, including chalk grassland, wooded slopes, and peaceful farmland trails. We continue along the ridge before descending through tranquil valleys and heading towards the River Thames. The return brings us along beautiful sections of the Thames Path, following the river as it carves its iconic route through the chalk hills of the Goring Gap.Route Highlights:
- Ridge views from Streatley Hill and Moulsford Downs, with classic Goring Gap vistas
- Peaceful countryside tracks through Uphill Wood, Thurle Down, and Han Wood
- A stunning descent into the Goring Gap, where river meets ridge - Long riverside section along the Thames Path with chances to spot kingfishers and red kites
- Finish in the charming riverside village of Goring, ideal for a post-walk pub or café stopSuitable For:

Join us for an afternoon out paddling the River Lea We will spend a relaxed day paddleboarding in Hertfordshire from Ware to Stanstead St Margarets and back. No experience needed & all equipment is included.

End time - 2.30pmWe embark on a scenic paddle along the River Lea, commencing at Ware. Our adventure will take us along the tranquil waters of the River Lea towards Stanstead St Margarets and then back again. With a touch of luck, we might catch glimpses of majestic Herons, graceful Swallows, and elegant Great Crested Grebes along the way.

Everyone will be provided a buoyancy aid and a quick release belt. You must be able to swim 20 meters.
The paddleboards are suitable for anyone up to 85kg / 13.5stone.
This session is run by a qualified and insured paddle Sport leader / instructor. Outdoor first aider, British Canoeing foundation rescue and safety qualified.What to wear/ bring:
- Leggings (not cotton) / tee shirt (not cotton) and trainers (that you don’t mind getting wet)
If its cold
- Fleece/ waterproof jacket / Waterproof trousers
If its warm
- Hat, Sunglasses and suncream.
- Spare fleece (to put in a dry bag whatever the weather)
Complete change of clothing (to keep in your car (or mine if coming by train)

Weather:
We love the sun but if it is having a day off please be aware this activity will still go ahead in the rain. (You will splash yourself anyway!) Please dress for the weather. Unsafe weather conditions: We will monitor the weather and may have to cancel at short notice (the morning of the event) if weather conditions look to be unsafe to paddle. Level 1 (Beginner-Friendly): Duration: 3-4 hours on the water. Suitable for beginners, though some may need to paddle on their knees/ sitting down if standing is difficult.
