What we’re about
Want to reconnect with Earth, eat healthy, get exercise, learn new skills, and meet great people? This is a group for folks interested in sharing knowledge on foraging and living from the land. All skill levels and ages are welcome. We hold a variety of classes for our members. The topics of these classes are chosen based on member interest and range from edible and medicinal plant walks to mushroom growing to cooking classes to tanning and primitive tool making. Fees for these classes will vary.
Due to the nature of our activities, some of our events are held in areas that are not accessible to those with limited mobility. This will be noted in the event description. We never want to exclude anyone from classes due to cost, so if you cannot afford the fee please contact the instructor to discuss barter or work study.

Exploring Wild Flours- A Pancake Brunch
Tantré Farm, 2510 Hayes Rd, Chelsea, MI, USFlours are powders made from various plant parts that are typically used in baking. Wild flours can be made from many different plants. In this class, you will learn about 5 of them: Chestnut, Acorn, Cattail, Dock, and Wild Rice. All of these plants were staple food sources for countless generations of humans, and each of them is processed in a different way. We will talk about those processes and the various steps involved in preparing each of them to be ground into flour. And we will make, and taste test, pancakes so that you can see how the various flours work in a recipe and taste test the results. Along with a variety of both sweet and savory wild pancake toppings for you to explore.
