Green Man Day is Weavers of the Web's monthly hands-on volunteer work party, a friendly, low-pressure day where the community takes care of the space and gets it ready for the season ahead. It grew out of groundskeeping at our birth space and has become our regular reset: swapping Sabbat decor in and out of storage (including off-site), sorting and restocking church supplies, raffle donations, and ritual gear, working through library projects like cataloguing and shelving, and handling deep cleaning, minor repairs, and fix-it list items.

For September, we will be indoors at Weavers of the Web, cleaning up from the summer and prepping the trailer for Mabon, as well as working on maintenance, library, and storage. Weather permitting, we'll also have a crew heading out to the property for more outdoor work.

Anyone can volunteer. No special skills required, and there's always something suited to every body and every energy level — bring your repair, organizing, carpentry, or library skills if you have them, and come anyway if you don't. It's drop-in friendly, so stay an hour or stay the whole time; wear clothes you don't mind getting dusty. Tasks can be matched to your physical capacity, and seated work is available on request. Bring water, gloves, or your own tools if you like, but nothing's required. Just show up, check in with a Weavers staff member, and we'll walk you through the day's priorities and pair you with a task. Join us in-person or online for our weekly Community Night: an open, cross-tradition discussion space where we learn, share, and build community together. We gather every Wednesday evening for discussion, meditation, ritual nights, and more, with time to socialize before and after.

This week: Diversity
We're talking about religious diversity this week, the wide field of beliefs and practices that surrounds us and informs our own spirituality. We'll look at how traditions have borrowed, blended, and clashed across thousands of years, from Romans taking on Greek gods to the crusades and the Burning Times, and how the last fifty years of an ever more interconnected world has opened the door to more paths than ever. We'll look at how much variation lives within Wicca alone, with variations in quarters, ritual rules and etiquette. Gatekeeping over things like initiation, lineage, or book learning only carves chasms between us, and our community needs bridges now more than ever. Monotheism and polytheism, solitary and coven practice, ours and theirs: let's find the middle ground and learn how broadening our view helps to clarify our own spirituality.
