About us
Our mission is to share information about the art and science of photography and to educate our members and the general public to bring about a greater appreciation for the art of photography in the valley with an emphasis on the urban communities. The Valley Photo Center is a 501c3 not for profit corporation located on the mezzanine level of Tower Square at 1500 Main St. in Springfield MA. All of our gallery exhibits, receptions, and noon time programs are open to the general public and are free. We also want to offer photography workshops, trips, and shoots in various places of various subjects!

Longmeadow, MA - On Thursday June 11, 2026 at 1:30 PM at The Valley Photo Center-Longmeadow Photo Club meeting at the Longmeadow Adult Center on 231 Maple Street will feature a program by Mary Frey entitled: Re-imaging the Archive.
Ms. Frey wrote this about her presentation: "I've been a practicing artist for over 40 years and have worked on many diverse projects. Having taught photography for 35 years some of my work has been influenced by a need to learn new techniques, some by ideas shared with colleagues but the majority of my practice stems from my own experience in the world and how to make shape of it through photographs. Many of these projects can be viewed at https://www.maryfrey.com.
In my presentation I'll take your through some of the thoughts and activities that helped form my aesthetics, and I'll talk about revisiting myth earliest work, looking at it with fresh eyes and creating three publications from these projects. I'll also talk briefly about what I'm currently working on and thinking about...
