Hi all,
If you need to reach me, my number is 647-924-1570.
As you know I host rides out to places such as Oshawa, Lake Simcoe, and different Ports within cycling distance of Ontario. As I am just getting back into cycling again (yes I didn't stay conditioned) it will be an easy ride to and from Pickering.
This ride is for any rider that can ride the distance (see hereunder) and can sustain the speed (see hereunder). This is intended to be a fun and more casual ride (as I am still out of shape).
- Ride duration
- Ride duration is around 3 hours
- 1.5 hours there and 1.5 hours back
- About 51km there and back
- Locations
- Starting: Eglinton Go (intersection of Eglinton Ave E and Bellamy Rd)
- Mid-point: Lions Point, Waterfront Trail, Ajax, ON L1S 4X8
- Ending: Eglinton Go (depending where people need to go, people can break off).
- Route conditions:
- Path type: Paved/ Dedicated;
- Some of the initial part of the ride will be on the road
- Route has some hills (mostly on the way back)
- Distance (total): Approximately 40KM;
- Ride requirements:
- Average speed: We will target 20-24 KM per hour (Since this is my first ride of the season I will be keeping between this pace, although as long as you know the way I do not mind people riding ahead);
- Break(s): If people want food/coffee we will take a 15 min break at the mid point before heading back
- Bike type: Any, but a hybrid or road bike is better suited for the target speed;
- Additional notes:
- Since this is my first ride of the season this will be a NO DROP ride
- This ride is weather permitting. If conditions are uncertain the deciding time is 7 PM the night before the event;
- Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water (important to hydrate) and if needed snacks;
- Please be on time and respect your RSVP; We intend to leave on time;
- Feel free to bring a guest provided they can follow all the instructions on this post.
- By taking part in this event you attest: a) you are in good health, b) you participate at your own risks, and c) you release the organizer(s) from any responsibility;
Route will look something like this: Eglinton GO to Lions Point, Waterfront Trail, Ajax, ON - Google Maps
