What we’re about
Welcome! This meetup dedicated to all professionals involved in Cyber Security for Automated Processes and Control Systems including security for Operating Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA Systems, Transportation Systems, Building Control Systems (BCS), and even emerging Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems. Our purpose is to connect the professionals in the Greater Mobile area with real interest in or responsibility for the cyber security of these systems.
Once we have enough critical mass of interest in Mobile, we will gather for purposes of education, information exchange, and discovery of new opportunities and, yes, perhaps a few happy hours! If you are interested in serving on a committee to help shape this meetup experience, please contact the organizers directly.

### (CS)²AI Author Spotlight™
Featuring Paul Smith
Author of Pentesting Industrial Control Systems: An Ethical Hacker's Guide to Analyzing, Compromising, Mitigating, and Securing Industrial Processes
Director of Engineering, HoneywellAs cyber threats targeting industrial environments continue to evolve, understanding how adversaries operate is essential for defending critical infrastructure.
In this special (CS)²AI Author Spotlight™, we welcome Paul Smith, Director of Engineering at Honeywell and author of Pentesting Industrial Control Systems, for a deep dive into ethical hacking, offensive security strategies, and actionable techniques to secure industrial processes.
With hands-on experience and technical expertise, Paul bridges the gap between traditional IT penetration testing and the unique demands of OT/ICS environments.
### What to Expect:
- A breakdown of the pentesting process tailored to industrial systems
- Common vulnerabilities in ICS networks and how attackers exploit them
- Mitigation strategies and defense-in-depth techniques
- Insights into how ethical hacking strengthens industrial cybersecurity posture
- Live Q&A with the author
🔍 If you work in OT security, engineering, or incident response, this is a must-attend session to better understand how to think like an attacker—and defend like a pro.
