Catbells is one of our smaller Lake District walks. But what it lacks in height it gains in atmosphere and pure stunning views! It sits just above Derwent water and is close to the much loved Keswick. From Catbells we will head down to the surrounding woodland meeting the water, an equally beautiful space, but slightly less known (and fewer people). Before descending into Borrowdale Valley.

This popular walk has been crowned one of Britains favourite views, it's a great place to switch off and just enjoys being outside with some like-minded people.

This event is in total 10 km and has a stunning view of the Northern Lake District! Once at the start of the hike, you will be led by trained mountain leaders who will have a laugh and keep everyone safe throughout.

🐝 Itinerary 🐝

8.00am - Pick-up 1 - One of our beautiful minibuses (Pictured below) will be parked waiting outside the National Express coach station on Chorlton Street, Manchester. Roughly 5 min walk from Piccadilly.

9.00am - Pick-up 2 - Lancaster Park and Ride, we will pull up at the bus stop opposite the back car park. (Free Parking all day)

​9:45am - Service stop for refreshments for 20 minutes.

​10:30am - We will arrive at Catbells car park, a little introduction from our mountain leaders about the day and then begin our walk. (Toilet facilities are available in the car park).

​4pm - Arrive back down from walk latest with lots of smiles! Depart from car park.

​4:45pm - Service stop for refreshments for 20 minutes.

​5.30pm - Drop off 1 - Lancaster Park and Ride.

​6.30pm - Drop off 2 - Arrive back at Chorlton Street, Manchester for departure. With some great memories!

Join us for an eerie evening hike to the infamous Pendle Hill, home of the notorious Pendle Witch Trials and steeped in folklore and history. The trials of the 12 Pendle witches in 1612 are some of the most famous witch trials in English history - the perfect backdrop for a spooky adventure!

Starting from the village of Barley, we’ll make our way around Ogden reservoirs as the sun starts to set. We’ll begin our ascent in the shadows as night falls, guided by the light of our head torches. Bring your best ghost tales and scary stories to share at the summit!

This is a great introduction to night hiking and a perfect Halloween adventure. It takes approximately 3 hours to follow this route. This event is in total 8.1km and a well-rewarded walk. Once at the start of the hike, you will be led by trained mountain leaders all through the route.
We’ve guided people of all abilities and welcome everyone to join us!

Itinerary:

3:00pm – Pick-up – We will be stood waiting outside the National Express Coach Station on Chorlton Street, Manchester. Roughly 5 min walk from Piccadilly Station.

4:15pm – Arrive in Barley. Toilet break, group introductions and get ready to start the hike.

4:30pm – Start the spooky Pendle Hill hike just as the light begins to fade.

6:00pm – Reach the summit for a break with Halloween treats and spooky stories!

7:30pm – Return to Barley and back to the minibus. Depart for Manchester, stopping for toilet break.

9:30pm – Drop-off – Arrive back at Chorlton Street, Manchester with spooky stories and happy memories!

Join us for a free women’s walk around Crompton Moor (Shaw, Oldham) on Sunday 26th October. This 5km route offers moorland views, woodland paths, a waterfall and autumn colours. Feel accomplished, enjoy the fresh air and meet like-minded people!

Meeting at Brushes Clough car park, you’ll be guided by our volunteer Chelsea. It should take around 90 minutes to complete the loop of Crompton Moor, going at an easy pace.

👟 Practicalities

• Terrain: mix of moor paths and woodland. Some short hills and incline but nothing technical. Paths are likely to be muddy.
• Kit: sturdy shoes/boots, warm layers.
• Accessibility: not suitable for pushchairs/wheelchairs due to moorland sections.

The Winter Walk Special is back! Explore the Lakes under the cover of darkness on our torchlight walk - this time it's a mountain top!

Difficulty: Moderate

Guided by the gentle glow of our torchlight, we'll start in Ambleside and make our way through the forests upto the rolling hills toward up to Wansfell Pike.

Our experienced guides will lead you through a carefully selected route, ensuring safety and the opportunity to witness the wonders of the night. Along the way, you'll discover the sounds of the night, from the rustling of leaves to the distant calls of nocturnal creatures. Keep an eye out for the occasional surprise encounter with wildlife, like owls and deer.

This winter torchlight walk is a great way to end the year and promises to be an unforgettable experience. Don't miss your chance to explore the wilderness in a whole new light!
