What we’re about
This Meetup group will give us a chance to meet and hike with our fellow hikers from Nashville and Chattanooga as we will do a lot of hiking in the Cumberland Plateau and Cumberland Mountains which are between Knoxville, Nashville and Chattanooga. Most of these hikes will be long day trips but are very awarding hikes.
We will also do hikes in the Smoky Mountains as well as longer hikes that involve overnights. These hikes are from anywhere from from Red River gorge to the Rocky Mountains or anywhere there are good hikes that the group would like to hike.
We will try to plan to go to different National Parks across the country on hiking trips.
In addition to hiking we will be open to all kinds of outdoor activities from kayaking, biking, horseback riding, sitting around a fire, camping, caving, having a picnic, listening to live music outside, rock climbing or pretty much anything that is outdoors. We may also have some social activities as well such as dinners or other activities that will help us all get to know each other.
We are always looking for people who are will to host meetups and I am always willing to help you organize your first few meetup events so let me know if you would like to be an Event Organizer

Get your harness ready! Let's go to Navitat Treetop Zipline Adventure at Ijams in Knoxville. This is a family friendly obstacle course in the trees. There are six different courses in the trees ranging from easy to extreme. Each course has 10-12 different challenging elements. Also included is a full-body harness, gloves, a helmet, and expert guides nearby for assistance.
I will send out more information in September as I see how many people are interested in going to Navitat.
This is the link to the website: https://navitatknoxville.com/
This is a family friendly event! Kids and adults are both welcome to join the fun in the trees.
The cost is $55- $60 depending on the group size. In addition, Ijams charges $5 for parking. There are two different options to book this event depending on the interest. If 15 people or less are interested, then we will book individual tickets. If 16-30 people are interested, then I will book the group rate.
The group rate requires a $300 deposit to secure the timeslot. The ticket price for a group is around 10% less than an individual ticket. If I book the group rate, then I will require a $10- $20 (depending on the group size) deposit from each person attending before booking.
Either way booking individual or group tickets, I will communicate the final plan in September.
This is one my favorite activities in Knoxville, and I am excited to take a group there. Please reach out if you have any additional questions about the event.
