What we’re about
Only 1 hour from New York City, Kittatinny Valley State Park headquarters is located 7 miles north of Interstate 80 in Andover Township, Sussex County, NJ. This naturally scenic and historically significant park encompasses over 5,600 acres of land and more than 75 miles of trail extending into Morris and Warren County. Its three rail-trails (Sussex Branch Trail, Paulinskill Valley Trail, and Great Valley Rail-Trail) provide a smooth, level surface perfect for biking, running, and cross-country skiing. Entrance to the park is free.
Our year-round schedule of public nature programs and events offers a multitude of opportunities for children and adults to get outdoors. We also welcome program requests by schools, scout groups, and civic organizations. Please call (973) 786-6445 to register for programs or for more information, and be sure to visit www.njparksandforests.org for a listing of all of New Jersey's beautiful state parks, forests, and historic sites.
