Dating, politics, work, money, safety, loneliness, ambition, family, social media… Men and women may live in the same cities, use the same apps, go to the same workplaces, and move through the same economy — but increasingly, it can feel like they are experiencing completely different worlds.
In this discussion, we’ll explore why many men and women seem to be drifting apart politically, emotionally, socially, and even economically. Are we becoming harder for each other to understand? Are dating apps, social media, changing gender roles, and economic pressure making connection more difficult? And are men and women being pushed into separate realities — with different fears, different expectations, and different stories about what is going wrong?
We’ll talk about dating, friendship, loneliness, attraction, safety, resentment, independence, masculinity, femininity, and the complicated question of what men and women still want — or need — from each other. This won’t be a “men vs. women” debate, but a chance to ask a deeper question: if we are drifting apart, what exactly is pulling us away from each other?
We’ll meet online, coffee or another drink in hand, and talk with other curious people trying to make sense of a very personal but very public tension: why does it sometimes feel harder than ever for men and women to connect?
Some topics we’ll touch on:
• Why young men and women seem to be moving in different political directions
• Dating apps, rejection, safety, and the collapse of romantic trust
• Whether men and women experience loneliness differently
• The changing meaning of masculinity, femininity, independence, and success
• Education, money, status, and the new economics of attraction
• Social media algorithms and the rise of gender resentment
• Whether modern freedom has made love easier — or harder
• What men and women misunderstand most about each other
• How we might rebuild trust without returning to the past
• And so much more!
By the end of the discussion, we’ll have explored an uncomfortable but very current question: are men and women truly becoming worlds apart — or are we just struggling to understand each other in a world that has changed too fast?
