Can you believe it? This month marks the 8th anniversary of our Des Moines Financial Independence Meetup!
For eight years, we've gathered on the first Thursday of each month to learn, share ideas, encourage one another, and build lasting friendships. While we spent a few months meeting virtually during COVID, we've continued to grow into an incredible community of people pursuing financial independence and intentional living.
This month, I'd love to celebrate not only this milestone, but also all of the people who have helped make this group what it is today. Whether you've attended one meetup or several, you've played a part in shaping this community.
I'd especially love to see some of our original members join us as we reflect on the journey. Take a moment to think about where you were eight years ago. How have your finances changed? What goals have you achieved? What lessons have you learned? What opportunities have opened up because of the decisions you've made?
Financial independence isn't just about money. It's about creating the freedom to spend your time on what matters most. It's about designing a life you enjoy living.
If you're comfortable sharing, we'd love to hear part of your story and celebrate your progress—big or small. Every journey is different, and there's often just as much value in the setbacks and lessons learned as there is in the victories.
As always, we'll have great conversation, new connections, and plenty of opportunities to learn from one another.

Our mission has never been to promote a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, we strive to learn from others, teach what we've learned, and support one another along the journey.
