Some artists are gone but not forgotten. Others are still alive, but their careers have been on life support for quite some time.
Either way, we're celebrating them!
This Fifth Friday at City Vino, DJ Great Scott is hosting a musical tribute to the dearly departed, the commercially deceased, and those whose last hit came out when MTV still played music.
Freddie Mercury? Dead. Legend.
David Bowie? Dead. Legend.
Prince? Dead. Legend.
Boy George? Alive. Career? We're waiting for the coroner's report.
The rules are simple: If the artist is dead, or their career has flatlined, they're eligible. We're not terribly strict about the definition of death. After a couple glasses of wine, neither is anybody else.
Come resurrect a classic, perform an autopsy on a forgotten hit, or remind everyone why some songs should have stayed buried.

This November, DJ Great Scott is bringing The Seven Deadly Sins to City Vino for First Friday Karaoke.

Lust: Half the love songs ever written.
Greed: You already sang twice, but apparently that's not enough.
Pride: You're convinced you sound exactly like Freddie Mercury. You don't.
Envy: That asshole who just nailed the song you were going to sing.
Wrath: WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T SING "BEFORE HE CHEATS" HERE?!
Gluttony: You don't have a drinking problem. You have a refill solution.
Sloth: You haven't left your barstool in three hours, but somehow your wine glass keeps getting refilled.
The idea is simple. Pick a song that celebrates one of the seven deadly sins, grab the microphone, and confess your musical transgressions to a room full of people who have absolutely no business judging anyone.
