What we’re about

How well do you know your neighbors? How often do you share meaningful conversations around a meal with them? Can you turn to them when you're in need, whether just for a cup of sugar, or for helping care for a sick or elderly family member?

Cohousing is an intentional community of private homes clustered around shared space. Each attached or single family home has traditional amenities, including a private kitchen. Shared spaces typically feature a common house, which may include a large kitchen and dining area, laundry, and recreational spaces. Many communities regularly share meals and celebrate together, as well as sharing infrequently used resources, like lawnmowers, treadmills, bicycles and more, which helps to reduce overall consumption. This Meetup is here to help you learn more about the cohousing communities that already exist in Atlanta, and to serve as a shared space for discussion about the principles behind it, and how you can experience it for yourself. We want this site to be a nexus for information and education about building community and living sustainably.
