Forest Therapy is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments. Forest Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to “forest bathing.” Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition.
Historic Hike learn about the history of Gwynn Oak Amusement Park and the Civil Rights movement. See the Gwynn Falls and immerse yourself in nature and wildlife.
How to Prep for your Adventure

Dress: Outdoor ready. Hiking / outdoor shoes or sneakers. Clothing – something you don’t mind getting wet, sweaty, or dirty.
What you will see and do: We have a variety of outdoor experiences from our apiary, hiking our trail through part of the Gwynn Falls trail, to our gardens (rain, pollinator, butterfly, and herb gardens)
What to bring: Water container. Any in kind donation is very much appreciated from extra paint around your home, tools, and gardening equipment. All these items will be used in our efforts to give people an amazing experience when they come to the PLC!

Honeybees and hands on Apiary Experience
Whether your an expert or just want to see these amazing creatures in action. We will put you into a bee suit and take you into our Apiary.

101 Basic level education about the bees, the hives, and their importance.
201 Deep dive for our advanced students.

Ages: 8 and up.

Dress: Outdoor ready. Close toed shoes. Clothing – something you don’t mind getting wet, sweaty, or dirty. Long pants.
