About us
Welcome to the Narragansett Chapter Young Members 20s/30s Meetup! This Meetup is sponsored by the Narragansett Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (Joining this Meetup Group does not automatically make you an AMC member).
Our trip leaders host local hikes, bike rides, and social events aimed at outdoorsy 20-40ish years old. We offer activities throughout RI and surrounding areas both after work and on the weekends. Joining a YM activity is a great way to make new friends and explore the area's natural beauty.
The purpose of our Meetup is to introduce others to the wonderful outdoor opportunities offered by the AMC Narragansett Chapter Young Members 20s/30s. As a Meetup member, you have no obligation to join the AMC.But, if you enjoy participating in our events, we hope you will consider joining the AMC (https://www.outdoors.org/join-today?chapter=NA&campaign=70150000001EMs5AAG).
Please, only RSVP if you plan on attending the event. For the consideration of our leaders, we ask that you contact us if you have RSVP'ed and can no longer attend.
Our events are led by highly qualified, trained AMC volunteers who are always concerned about safety. They take every precaution to assure participant risk is minimized and fun is maximized.

20s & 30s Killington Ski/Snowboard Trip
Location not specified yetActivity Type: Skiing | Alpine/Lift Service
Difficulty: 2 - Relaxed
Trip Leader(s): Lauren Buchholz
Registration Type: Application
Please Click Here to RSVP: https://activities.outdoors.org/a5UVX0000012lIP
Audience: 20’s & 30’sDescription: Join the Narragansett Chapter 20s & 30s for a day on the slopes! Killington Resort is the largest ski resort in the northeast, so you can expect trails and conditions for all skill levels. This late in the season, you'll also find better snow conditions than in most of southern New England.
Skiing & Boarding
We often have people of varying skill levels sign up, so while we'd love to ski/board in a large group, we understand that this may not be possible. Participants are therefore welcome to head off on their own. Just remember to join us for lunch around 1:00 PM!
Check out the Killington trail map here.Cost
Lift tickets are around $200 and should be purchased in advance online here. For those coming from Rhode Island, there is a ski bus company that offers both tickets and transportation for a lower price. See Ski Bus section below.Ski Bus
Killington is in northern Vermont, around 4 hours from Rhode Island. Trip participants are invited to travel to Killington via a ski bus that leaves from a Park & Ride lot from Warwick. The bus leaves at 5:00 AM, arrives at the mountain around 10:00, and departs at 4:30 PM after the lifts close. The cost is $160 for the bus and includes lift tickets; tickets for the bus only are $70.
See more details and sign up here .Rentals
Rental equipment is available for around $100 at Killington. See details here. We recommend that you rent equipment from a local ski store before the trip. Not only will it be cheaper, but you'll be able to make the most of your expensive lift ticket by head directly to the chair after arrival. If you're taking the ski bus, they offer discounted rentals. Please read the fine print on their website (linked in the Ski Bus section above).
Beginners
If you do not have any or much experience, we kindly request that you purchase full day lessons or that you come with a friend who can accompany you on the slopes. While Killington has plenty of beginner terrain, trip leaders will not be acting as teachers or instructors. If you are a beginner, you are invited to check out our Wachusett Mountain ski trips for an experience more catered to your skill level. What to Bring

Audience: 20’s & 30’sDescription: Whispers of the River: A Grounded Walk at DNRT Frank Knowles/Little River Reserve
Let the quiet woods steady your breath and the river guide your pace— this mindful forest walk is for those in their 20s and 30s seeking presence, connection, and a deeper kind of calm. Tucked away in South Dartmouth and cared for by Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust, this 194-acre reserve is where forest, field, and freshwater wetlands meet. Wooden boardwalks carry you gently over marshland, tall trees filter the light above, and the Little River winds quietly through protected land.
Here, there’s no rush. Just the sound of wind in the trees, birds moving through the canopy, and the grounding rhythm of your own steps.
🌿 Expect woodland calm and quiet discovery: • Peaceful forest trails and scenic boardwalks • Freshwater wetlands and river views • Open meadows framed by stone walls and traces of old farmland • Space for reflection, intention, and meaningful conversation This isn’t a hike to conquer. It’s a chance to slow down, reconnect with nature, and share presence—together.
📌 Event Details Distance: ~4–5 miles (loop options available) Pace: Moderate, intentional, with time to pause and connect
🎒 What to Bring: • Comfortable walking shoes (some areas may be uneven or damp) • Layers for changing weather • Water and a light snack (optional) • An open mind

Audience: 20’s & 30’sDescription: No trail shoes. No bug spray. Just flavor, laughter, and the joy of discovering something new. Because adventure doesn’t always require a backpack. Sometimes, all you need is a fork and the curiosity to discover what’s nearby. Join us for a culinary experience that goes beyond the plate. At S.E.A.L., we celebrate local flavors, the stories shared around the table, and the magic of connecting with genuine people in unexpected places. Each gathering is different. The menu changes, the location shifts, but the spirit stays the same: explore, savor, and live every adventure locally.
This time, we’re trading the forest path for fork and plate, and meeting at a local culinary gem in Rhode Island.
This month’s location: Xaco Taco is a Mexican restaurant in Providence that celebrates authentic Mexican street food with a modern twist, serving tacos made with fresh ingredients and handmade corn tortillas, dishes inspired by different regions of Mexico, and flavors that capture the warmth, tradition, and festive vibes of Mexican culinary culture in a relaxed, energetic atmosphere that invites you to savor every bite.
🥂 What to Expect: • A different restaurant every month — no repeats for at least 6 months • Small group vibes (max 10 attendees) • Everyone pays the ir own way • Open conversations, shared ideas, and trip inspiration Whether you're a foodie, a hiker, or simply someone who craves genuine connection — this is your space.
💬 Who’s It For? This is for anyone who’s hiked with us, is part of the AMC community, or shares our passion for nature, food, and connection. First-timers with the right vibe are also welcome — just bring your curiosity, kindness, and a love for good stories (and flavors). Whether you’ve walked one trail or ten with us, you’re already part of the family.
